Serious Music Media is a PR, Management and Consulting agency working with a variety of classical innovative artists, while also curating contemporary music festivals. Serious Music Media has helped place reviews in many major newspapers and journals, and booked artists at major performing arts venues throughout the world.
Peter Robles is the director of Serious Music Media. He has curated festivals, from The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. to the Newman Center for Performing Arts in Denver. Unlike many other booking agents and managers, Peter has a strong background in living music and the composers who now work to attract new audiences to exceptional projects performing at the highest caliber of performance. He is always happy to sit on panels, as he has recently done in the past, and is now helping to co-curate a series in NYC, working with the director to combine contemporary works to the great works from the past.
Peter Robles holds two principal degrees in music. A Doctorate in composition from Princeton University, where his primary teachers were Steven Mackey and Paul Lansky and conductor Robert Sadin and J.K. Randall and a bachelor’s degree from The New England of Music, his primary composition teacher was Arthur Berger. He also had the great fortunate of private composition with Jacob Druckman, Martin Boykan and William Bolcom. He has produced numerous recordings; and has booked artists as diverse as Leon Fleischer with Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, pianist Fazil Say, JACK Quartet, Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Eliot Fisk, and continues to work with Eliot who is one of true legends in classical music. He has collaborated with other managers and artists from different rosters, with an attitude of we are all in this together,” view of the business. Past employment includes Vantage Artists (now Barrett-Vantage Artists) and Frank Salomon Management, where he filled in for a season for Barrie Steinberg while on maternity leave, he considers Barrie to be a mentor as well as Charles Letourneou for whom he worked, Charles is now at IMG Artists. He also worked at the Andante label and website where he sold historic CDs to over 100 vendors and programed the online radio station.
